November 2016 Prayer Letter

SWM Office

November 2016
Dear Friends and Supporters,

Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits” (Psalm 103:2). This fall we take time to bless the LORD, for He has greatly blessed Silent Word Ministries. What started as a small, local ministry has grown into a worldwide ministry including the Silent Word Newspaper (11,500 circulation), SWM Publications (over 350 titles), the Deaf Bible Institute (1083 enrolled), the Silent Word Mission Board (15 families, including the Ministry of Helps), and much more. In 2016 there have been 587 reported salvation decisions including all areas of our ministry. We are also thankful for many friends who help SWM in their areas of expertise. God has given us a great team and a great ministry with which to “publish” the Word of God (Psalm 68:11).

Office Improvements – All in the SWM office agreed it was time to hanew-officeve all of us working in the same area. Plans were made, volunteers and paid remodelers did their part, the Lord supplied the finances, and slowly the transformation happened. Now I have a new office downstairs. We are especially thankful for the volunteers who laid flooring, painted, installed electricity, provided furniture, and helped in many other areas. Already it has become clear that this was God’s timing. As we have said many times, the Lord did it again!

All year SWM has celebrated our special 50th-year anniversary. We have received many letters of appreciation and gifts toward the SWM Evangelism Fund. Finally, you are invited to a special drop-in” at the Silent Word Ministries office on Sunday, December 4, 2016, from 2-4 PM. We are encouraging all to bring or send letters of appreciation, cards, and special gifts for the 50-year offering (which Ted and Carlene have requested be used in the SWM Evangelism Fund). That day we will honor the Camps for 50 years of faithfulness in the deaf ministry. Visit with Ted and Carlene Camp, meet many other friends, and tour the ministry. Naturally, because of distance, some will not be able to attend, but can still send a note. RSVP is appreciated, but not required. Contact the office at 706-657-8000 or office@silentword.org. Come, see what the Lord has done!

We also want to show our appreciation by giving you, our friends and supporters, a free copy of the DVD, How It All Began,” and an autographed copy of the booklet, The Story of Silent Word Ministries.” The video includes Ted Camp’s testimony of God’s four calls on his life and Carlene’s story of how God brought her into the deaf ministry. Please request the gift within your letter.

Thank you for helping us reach this milestone through your faithful prayers and support. We look forward to many more years serving the Lord.

Special Need – Bookkeeping Computer – $600

Please prayerfully consider this project. The current computer is no longer adequate to handle bookkeeping needs. Designate gift: “Computer Fund.” Thanks!
