2018-11 Prayer Letter
SWM Prayer Letter • November/December 2018
Dear Friends,
“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever” (Hebrews 13:8). I am thankful we serve a God who does not change, and we have an unchanging Savior. As the world changes, methods may change, but our message and mission remain the same. Silent Word Ministries continues to “Give ourselves… to the ministry of the Word” to Deaf people worldwide.
Improvement and growth are always needed. The Bible compares spiritual growth and bearing fruit to farming and building (1 Cor. 3:9-15). We desire fruit that will remain. We want to be good stewards of what God has provided. SWM is developing, upgrading, and continuing.
Grounds and Landscaping – Through the gifts of churches and friends, God provided the property and finances for SWM to build debt free. We continue with no debts. Our policy is to only build as the Lord provides. Recently, SWM missionary Bud Ring (Deaf of Canada) and family visited SWM for a couple of days between meetings. As a skilled lumberjack by trade, he also travels with his chainsaw. In one day he cleared trees and bushes in front of SWM. Now visitors can see our building from the road! Also, the new SWM Memorial Park is being prepared. Topsoil was donated and delivered by a local businessman. Neighbor, Tony Moreland, loaned his tractor, and friend, Robert Floyd, graded the land. Praise the Lord for good friends who invest so SWM can continue to move forward!
New Laminated Cards and Lessons – Many years ago Ted Camp developed a “Counsel Card” and other helpful half-page tools which can fit in a Bible. Recently several of these were laminated and are now available through SWM. Titles include, “How to Counsel With Scriptures,” “How to Resolve Christian Conflicts,” “Steps to Heaven,” “How To Make Good Decisions,” and more. These concise Bible charts are filled with useful lessons. Recently, after I taught only part of “How To Make Good Decisions,” a pastor said he wanted to continue teaching that lesson card for the next several weeks. Contact SWM for more information or visit Catalog.SilentWordMinistries.org.
Annual “The Silent Word” Newspaper Appeal – “The Silent Word” Newspaper is unique – the ONLY Christian newspaper for Deaf people. The Gospel is in every issue. Pictures and articles include news, spiritual lessons, and deaf ministry helps. This “free,” bi-monthly newspaper is made possible by SWNP ads, Sender’s Club, and gifts from readers like you. Would you help us close the year debt free? Your designated “newspaper” gift will be used 100% to pay for the cost of the paper. Send check or give online at SilentWordMinistries.org/giving. Thank You! If you do not receive the newspaper, contact us, and we will gladly send it to you.
Silent Word Ministries continues to reach and teach on your behalf. So far this year there have been 516 salvation decisions reported through all areas of our ministry. Thank you for being on our team and allowing us to be on yours. It is an honor to represent you for Christ.
Israel Trip Update – There is still room for several more to come on the SWM Deaf Educational Tour of Israel April 1-13, 2019. Encourage Deaf people in your ministry to join us (Cost: $3950). Advise of your interest and register immediately. (Hearing signers also welcomed.) More information at SilentWordMinistries.org/Israel.
